Coming back soon !

επεξεργασία

Hi Manie. I'm sorry I didn't answer you earlier, namely after having changed the name of your contribution. I wanted to have more time for that. I'll do it on Saturday. Best regards, --Lou 05:52, 8 Δεκεμβρίου 2006 (UTC)Απάντηση

Σότο του Βορρά

επεξεργασία

Hi Manie. I can find no sign of "Σότο" at the address you sent me. Instead, I see "Λεσότο". Is that what you were talking about? I took the script "Σόθο" from a language center that talks about it (I found it in Google), as well as from a geography site, and from... esperanto Greece :-)

Concerning "του Βορρά" instead of "βόρεια", I got the same reasoning. Moreover, I thought it would be better to say "του Βορρά" ("of the north", which is an adverb) instead of "βόρεια" ("north something", which is an adjective). In my mind, it was better to say "the language of the north", instead of "the north language" ! Obscure, isn't it!!

About "Venda", I found no reference on the internet about "Βένδα" whereas I found many for "Βέντα". Of course, this concerns other meanings, so if you think "Βένδα" would be the correct term, let's change it.

About "Afrikaans", I wanted to ask you first... but I didn't. Where is the accent really, on the "A", or on the "ka"? In fact, I found also (except for "αφρικανικά") the translation "αφρικανολλανδικά", and I adopted it first. But then I thought I was mistaken and changed it to "αφρικάανς", considering it more pertinent. So, I will change "αφρικανικά" to "αφρικάανς" (or " Άφρικαανς ", or something else, if you tell me so!).

I will also change "Ξχόσα" to "Κόσα", and "Ντέμπελε" to "Ντεμπέλε" as you tell me that.

I had thought to give you the templates I created for the greek declinations, but I saw you write everything by hand, so I didn't :-) Best regards,--Lou 13:49, 10 Δεκεμβρίου 2006 (UTC)Απάντηση

Hi Manie. Well, _now_ I'm really lost! :-) Do what you want, anyway, _you_ know better what to do!!!

Here are the greek declinations: Κατηγορία:Πρότυπα γραμματικής. If you need explanations, I will be happy to do it.

σύζυγος μαορι ναουατλ κλπ

επεξεργασία

Hi Manie, I see you are still learning (ancient!) greek :-) - Well, in ancient greek, the vocative of σύζυγος would be σύζυγε. BUT, in modern greek, my grammar says (σύζυγο), which means it's a form that is not used very much. It's part of the αρχαιόκλιτα nouns, i.e. the nouns that are declined in a ancient-like form, so we don't use them unless we are forced to :-)

About μαορι, a user (Alamot) has just e-mailed me that the correct form is μάορι. BUT, in many dictionaries, lexicographers have been used to write it μαορί. Last but not least, the correct form of the second word would be νάουατλ.

Everything's ok here, I hope you are doing well, too! Nice to "see" you again! --Lou 22:50, 3 Φεβρουαρίου 2007 (UTC)Απάντηση

Hi Manie! In real life, you will never hear anyone say e.g. (vocative case) "Αγαπητή μου σύζυγο...", but only "Αγαπητή μου σύζυγε..." :ο) --Alamot 08:46, 4 Φεβρουαρίου 2007 (UTC)Απάντηση
Thanks, Alamot, for this precision... --Lou 10:43, 4 Φεβρουαρίου 2007 (UTC)Απάντηση
