The {{τ}} - or latin {{t}} - template is used in Translations.

{{t|xx|<your translation>|alt=<show different expression>}} (xx = language ISO codes)

The Latin t may be used instead of the Greek τ for Template:τ.
The first obligatory argument is the language code (e.g. en, fr, ru etc). The second one is the translation of the Greek word itself. For example, in the entry νερό, we add the English translation like this:

{{τ|en|water}}
|alt= (show an alternative link, a different appearance of the word)

If the translation is a long phrase, please add ''αποδίδεται περιφραστικά'' (it is translated with a periphrasis).

The template is also used as head at headword lines (PAGENAME) of non-greek languages. See examples at

  • apple
  • languages with enlarged characters e.g. آب or at あう
  • |diacr= with and without diacritics (as in خمسة)
  • |alt= different appearance (as in bienvenue with exclamation mark)

The template Πρότυπο:τ calls Module:protypo:t
